Hi my darling readers!! I cannot tell you how excited I am to finally be able to share this first part of my wedding day with you. I am sorry to break the day into two segments, but I really want to do all of the photos justice and not rush through anything. I hope you enjoy!
My day began by waking up in my lavish room at Hotel Bel-Air. Brian and I got to stay there for two nights: the night before and the night of the wedding. The room was absolutely breathtaking and extravagant. When we checked in, we found a plate of exotic fruits and a bottle of champagne, as well as our bed covered in rose petals. The whole room was controlled by iPads (to be quite honest I never really figured out how to use them properly). My favorite part was the bathroom. There was a flat screen TV mounted in the wall above the giant bathtub, the toilet and floors were heated, and the shower water cascaded straight down out of the ceiling!
After I woke up, I put on one of the big fluffy hotel robes and waited for my squad to start showing up! Getting ready is a bit of a blur. My hair and makeup artist Alicia Wheeler got set up with me on my patio, while the second hair and makeup artist Melina Ruiz took care of preparing the bridal party out in the living room. Glamming me up took a few hours but it was super fun to have my mom and maids of honor constantly coming out to visit with me and feed me snacks. Getting ready with them is one of my very favorite memories from my wedding day.
While I was getting pretty, Brian and his best men went to get dressed at a different spot in the hotel. Obviously they did not need anywhere near as long as the girls did, so I think they were probably bored a lot of the time!
By the time my mom zipped up my dress, I was starting to feel really nervous. I had to hurry because Brian was already waiting for me out by the swan lake for our First Look. It would be a special, private moment between us with only the photographers there to capture our reactions seeing each other dressed in our wedding attire for the first time.
Stay tuned for a glimpse of that incredibly emotional moment, as well as all the details on my wedding ceremony and reception!!
